Ohio Woman Puts Up Sign That Reads: PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL - WHITE ONLY

Cincinnati landlord Jamie Hein's, took it upon herself 2 violate Ohio's anti-discrimination laws after she hung a "white only" sign outside her swimming pool. Hein's lost an appeal with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission this past Thursday.

In court, Hein's stated the sign was simply a decorative antique. However, the truth eventually prevailed as it always does.

Apparently, a former tenant by the name of Michael Gunn, brought his bi-racial daughter 2 a Memorial Day weekend pool party, which was also attended by 20 other guests. Gunn said Hein later questioned him about the "chemicals" his daughter used in her hair and blamed the girl, the only non-Caucasian at the party, 4 making the pool water "cloudy."

Later on that week, former tenant Michael Gunn took his daughter back 2 the pool only 2 see a "White Only" sign hanging on the gate. As part of the commission's investigation, Gunn produced copies of texts he said Hein had sent 2 his fiancĂ© shortly after the family moved out, blaming "grease" in his daughter's hair 4 the cloudy condition of the pool.

After an investigation into the allegations and "informal efforts to resolve the case," the Civil Rights Commission ruled in September that Hein had violated the law. Hein requested an appeal after the initial findings but neither she nor her attorney attended the hearing on Thursday.

So Hein's wanted 2 keep Black people out of the pool, but her sign clearly states "white only". So she's also discriminating against Latinos, Asians, Indians, Arabs, Native Americans -- and the list goes on. I guess Black people are the only 1's that use chemicals in their hair?

This news shouldn't surprise any 1. Racism has always been alive and well in The United States of America. Racism was woven in 2 the fabric of history when the pilgrims stepped foot on this land. Why do you think republicans are giving President Obama such a hard time? Do you think it's a coincidence that almost all republican candidates running 4 president right now have had a flip flop with the race card?

Lets not 4get: Ron Paul with his racist newsletters that have recently surfaced. What about Michelle Bachman commenting that Black kids had it better during slavery times? Newt Gingrich wanting poor children 2 become janitors. Rick Perry's secluded West Texas hunting camp conveniently named, Niggerhead camp. Rick Santorum slipped up during a town hall meeting saying he doesn't want 2 make “Black people’s lives better by giving them someone else’s money". Hermain Cain is actually Black so of course he's never made any racist gaffes. I'm just waiting 4 Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney 2 slip up.

When there is a constant outcry from minorities in regards 2 inequality, racism, prejudice, discrimination and racial profiling, these cries are 4 real. It isn't a joke and it isn't make believe. There are real people in this world that go through this type of degradation daily. It was much worse during slavery times but it still very much exists beneath the surface.

If we are EVER going 2 attain closure 2 this matter, America needs 2 have a firm discussion on race relations. We need 2 call out the elephant in the room no matter how uncomfortable people are with it. If you're uncomfortable with race talks, then you're probably guilty of being racist.

Slavery Lesson In Elementary School Goes Wrong

When you send your child off 2 school, you assume your child will be educated and protected until you return 2 pick your child up at the end of the day. When picking their children up many parents in Charlotte, North Carolina were distraught 2 learn what kind of activities had taken place in class that day. During a lesson on the Civil War, tour guide Ian Campbell, who is himself black, made black students pretend 2 be slaves in front of their white classmates. Campbell stated that he's been a historian 4 15 years and commented "I am very enthusiastic about getting kids 2 think about how people did things in 1860, 1861 -- even before that period," he said.

1 parent said Campbell took his enthusiasm 2 far when he picked 3 black elementary school children out of a group of mostly white students 2 play the role of cotton picking slaves during his hands-on history lesson. It was also said that the students were made 2 wear bags used 2 gather cotton around their necks. Campbell stated, "I was trying 2 be historically correct not politically correct."

Charlotte-Mecklenburg National Association 4 the Advancement of Colored People, President Kojo Nantambu disagrees and commented, "There is a lingering pain, a lingering bitterness, a lingering insecurity and a lingering sense of inhumanity since slavery. Because that's still there, you want 2 be more sensitive than politically correct or historically correct."

Campbell announced that he has done lessons such as this in the past, and it has never caused such an uproar as it has this time. Campbell stated that in the future he will ask 4 volunteers instead of picking certain audience members, that way all children will be involved.

I completely understand where Mr. Campbell is coming from with his history lesson, and I am proud that he feels its only fair 2 teach our youth about the history of the country they live in, no matter how horrific it is. However, if I were a parent and my child was singled out 2 demonstrate slave routines, I don't think I would be 2 thrilled about it. If Mr. Campbell wants 2 teach the class about slavery, maybe he should make class trips to see a play or a film on the subject. This way parents won't take offense 2 the matter. Or take it a step further and write and produce a play starring his students, so that the whole school can be apart of it and learn at the same time.

Do you think the teacher should have handled this learning situation differently?

Black History Moment Blast From The Past

On July 15, 1822, the City of Brotherly Love decided 2 live up 2 it's slogan. This is the day that the city's public school system 1st officially opened it's doors 2 Black children. The Board of Education opened a public elementary school 4 Black boys in what was then the Old Presbyterian Meeting House. 4 years later, in 1826, the Board established a public elementary school 4 Black girls.

WhoHoo!!! Can I get a high five 4 justice!!
